Electronic Poker is a popular game that is able to be bet on in casinos around the world, or alternatively at your house on your home computer, using a net account. The rules are absolutely simple and consist of the player trying to achieve the best combination of cards possible in order to come away with money. On this account it’s much the same as a regular game of poker, minus the line of contact with any other players. Of course, tactics employed during a physical game of poker, like tricking, will be irrelevant in Video Poker.
The game of Video Poker starts when the gambler puts credits (either tokens, tickets or cash) into the machine and pushes the draw button. A 5 card hand will be electronically ‘given out’ on the video screen.
The Video Poker game also has buttons with ‘hold’ written on them, and bettors will need to now pick which cards to keep and which to discard. For the cards the gambler would like to keep, the ‘hold’ buttons must be pressed so that they light up. The player can decide to keep any amount of cards they want, whether it’s all or none.
After the gambler has decided on which cards he wishes to keep, the player will then press ‘deal’, which will mean that any fresh cards are needed they will be dealt. The game is now finished, with the Electronic Poker machine scanning the cards to see if it matches any of the winning hands printed on the pay out schedule.
Generally, the minimum succeeding hand on an Electronic Poker machine is a pair of jacks with the prize money getting larger for each better hand. A list of common winning hands begins with jacks or better, and moves on to two pairs, 3 of a kinds, straights, flushes, full houses, 4 of a kinds, straight flushes and last but not least royal flushes. It should be known that the payment schedule can change from game to game, so that knowledgeable enthusiasts are able to select the most money-making ones every instance.
As soon as the initial round has played out, the player can either decide to stay on in an attempt to maximize their winnings, or they can press the ‘collect’ button to cash out any cash that they may have won. Further, a few versions of the game allow the player a chance to increase their winnings, in which instance a further hand is played. There are also variations between individual machines, with some decks of cards having wild cards and other differing elements to increase playability.
