The Proper Way to Gamble on Electronic Poker
by Marquise on Dec.07, 2016, under Video Poker
Electronic Poker is a popular game that is able to be gambled on in casinos across the world, or in your house on your computer, through a web account. The game rules are absolutely simple and consist of the player attempting to get the highest combination of cards as you can in order to acquire cash. On this account it’s much the same as a regular game of poker, minus the interaction with competing players. Of course, tactics used in a real-life game of poker, such as bluffing, will be irrelevant in Video Poker.
The game of Video Poker starts when the gambler puts credits (either tokens, tickets or cash) into the video poker machine and pushes the play button. A hand of 5 cards will then be electronically ‘distributed’ on the video screen.
The Video Poker machine also has buttons with ‘hold’ printed on them, and bettors should now decide which cards to keep and which to throw away. For the cards the bettor wishes to retain, the ‘hold’ buttons should be pressed so that they light up. The player can choose to keep any number of cards they wish, from all to none.
After the gambler has chosen which cards she wishes to retain, they should press ‘deal’, which will mean that any new cards are given out if desired. The hand is now completed, with the Video Poker machine analyzing the hand to see if it is the same as any of the winning hands shown on the pay out schedule.
Typically, the minimum succeeding hand on an Electronic Poker machine is a pair of jacks with the award money growing for each better hand. A list of common winning hands begins with jacks or better, moving on to 2 pairs, three of a kinds, straights, flushes, full houses, four of a kinds, straight flushes and finally royal flushes. It goes without saying that the payment schedule can vary from machine to machine, so that knowledgeable bettors are agile enough to pick the most profitable ones every instance.
After the initial round has completed, the player can either choose to continue on and try to to maximize their winnings, or press the ‘collect’ button to cash out any credits that they may have won. Additionally, a few styles of the game give the gambler an opportunity to increase their wins, in which situation another hand is played. There are also differences among specific games, with some virtual decks including wild cards and other differing elements to enhance playability.
